Oh, salt… where would I be without you in my life? So much of my food would be dry, and so much of my driveway would be completely iced over. Salt, you never cease to amaze me. But there’s salt, and then there’s salt. Himalayan pink salt is considered one of the most highly prized salts in the world. It was formed millions of years ago under the pressure of the Himalayan mountains, where shallow seas had evaporated over time at the foothills of the Salt Range. Accordingly, over 84 trace minerals can be found in the salt, including calcium, zinc, iron, magnesium, and copper. And while we can certainly eat Himalayan pink salt, did you know that there are other ways to get the salt’s health benefits?
Lamps made out of Himalayan pink salt have become increasingly popular because of its natural ability to “clean” the air. What do I mean by that?
